I have very terrible psoriasis, quit going to the tanning salon last year because I went for ten years- 3or 4 times a week for twenty minutes per conference, and was worried about being paid skin cancer. My doctor just said i should go back- go twice a week for ten minutes at atime. I questioned him about my skin cancer concerns, and he said it would be alright. is he aptly? I have heard so many terrible things about UVA/UVB rays.

Its a type of dry skin and I have had it in view of the fact that childhood. I don’t have medical insurance so I can’t go to the doctor. Tanning beds used to work but they don’t anymore. Please help!!!

I was wondering if anyone has used a tanning bed for treating Psoriasis? What were the results? I use to tan a few years back and never had Psoriasis. Then for some reason I quit, and at the time did not reckon much about it, but like a year after I started showing signs of Psoriasis. I havent taned in view of the fact that. I am thinking about starting back up to see if it helps, cause all I have used small of shots does not work.

I have some rashes on my legs that have been there for nearly 6 years. I have been to the doctor. He place my leg up to a special set alight and said it wasn’t fungus. He diagnosed it as Dermatitis, and prescribed me prescription cortizone which I used as directed for a few weeks, and did not help it. The patches are pale red, thicker than the surrounding skin, flaky looking, very itchy at times, and sometimes not.

My skin, in general, is very dry and sensitive and the rash is only on my lower legs. I do wear pants most of the time. But, even when I was going to tanning beds, the condition was not better than it is now. The patches bounce around alot. I’ve started to get very small patches on my thighs and torso. I have no thought what it is. My boyfriend has psoriasis, and it looks like his condition, but isn’t nearly as severe. It only has morphology (appearance) that is similar.

I’ll be thankful for any advice I can get. Hopefully a name has had a similar condition. Thanks.

I went tanning off and on for about 8 months or more even in tanning beds to treat psoriasis. It worked well sometimes, but it took a lot of exposure. In view of the fact that then I have quit because it’s way less effective than actual sunlight, and there’s no point in risking cancer if i’m not even going to see a benefit.

My face is now a bit red along with my neck down to my collarbone. The rest of my body except the legs are pretty much lighter than my upper torso. The face and neck are the only parts that is really ruddy.

Will this go away or have I burnt my face to a crisp?
Is there anything I can do to speed up the process if it will go away?

I have had psoriasis for about 5 years now. I have it mainly on my arms and legs, feet and hands and a few patches on my ears. For me, this is the time of year it usually gets better but not this year. I have tried MG217, Psoriasin ointment, many prescription creams and ointments, Aveeno baths, Aveeno soap and lotion, vaseline, baby oil, vitamin e gel. I watch my diet and water intake. I do not have a lot of stress in my life. I cannot do tanning beds and/or natural sunlight as I am allergic to the sun. I still have adverse reactions even with sunscreen. My cholesterol levels are excellent as is the rest of my bloodwork. Nothing the dermatologist has prescribed has helped. I can’t afford the Raptiva shot becuase I have no insurance. The dr. is loath to prescribe it anyways due to the fact that I get normal headaches. Does any person know of a treatment that has helped them or a bigwig they know? Thanks so much!

I’ve been to three different doctors, including a dermatologist. The last two doctors I saw diagnosed me with a amalgamation of psoriasis and excema. I have this over-the-counter cream for the psoriasis, but it’s the excema that I really want gone. It covers my sides and it’s all over my elbows. Not only that, but it hurts exceptionally terrible. I can’t wear small sleeve shirts or shorts in the summer, and the excema has caused my scapl to be converted into exceptionally drie, making it nearly impossibly to wear anything black.

This is one of the toughest things I’ve ever had to go through in my life. I’ve had it in view of the fact that 8th grade, but it gets worse and worse every year. Isn’t there something I can do to minimize the breakouts? Tanning beds work for the psoriasis, but it doesn’t really help the excema…

What do I do??
