Ok my father has type 1 diabetes and psoriasis very terribly on his back, head, and underarms. He was taking some kind of diabetic Medication called Avandia 8mg., we believe thats what it was called. He has switched doctors and the one he has now wont prescribe him that medication because it is not yet proven to help with psoriasis. But I have took it before and it made my psoriasis go away pretty much completly. Do you know of any kind of medication that is proven to work for severe psoriasis. I would prefer a site that has Avandia for a decent price. Also has anyone else tried this medication or know anyone that has, if so what was the results/side affects. Serious answers only please!
Also if possible do you know of a site that takes medicaid insurance located in Bristol Virginia for Avandia or any other medication that is proven to cure psoriasis.

I have had a problem with psoriasis for 5 years. It is located on the base & sides of my nose and above my upper lip. I had been using my sister’s corticosteriod medication, but that is no longer an option.

My main problem is the flush in this area; scaling is minimal and it doesn’t itch.

I have tried vaseline, lotion, and a tar substance. The vaseline and lotion have minimal effect if any. And I have experimented with tar a couple times; each time my facial psoriasis is redder and sore. Does this mean it is working? Not working?

Is there a non-prescription treatment for my psoriasis, especially to get rid of the flush?

My partner has suffered from tablet psoriasis continuously for over 20 years. He has large, red, scaly patches that don’t itch and it has never gone into remission. He has read recently that it would be normal for it sometimes to go into remission so he’s surprised that it never has. He does endure from a lot of stress and very high blood pressure for which he’s on medication. He says he’s tried a lot of different things that didn’t work and he uses sea salt in the bath and small bars of black soap. I help him exfoliate the patches in the bath as it’s all over his back as well. Myself, I’ve noticed a patch on his back that’s diminishing and I can see healthy skin appearing. The patches appear darker, more red and “mad” on his forearms and knees.

Does anyone have any advice please? He eats meat -the only veg he’ll eat is broccoli, cauliflower and sweetcorn. I’m convinced it’s caused by stress and the miserable legacy of the last 20 years or more (we met last year).

i didn’t even know what it was up until 2 weeks ago. i thought it was just temporary and would go away by itself but found out after some research that it’s psoriasis. it got really terrible in view of the fact that i wasn’t treating it but the cracked, dry, scaly skin is really nearly healed now but my question is………will my hair grow back?
btw, i used an over-the-counter medication called “psoriasin” and it works really well. it literally started being paid better immediately.
