Wayne Mcdonald questioned:

Suffering with psoriasis is no walk in the park. The dry, flaky skin, the embarrassing rashes and red patches; it’s all a lot to take. Anyone who suffers from psoriasis knows the constant struggle of learning what triggers flare-ups and then avoiding those situations. So what triggers flare-ups? Read on to fight out.

First and foremost, stress is a trigger for many illnesses and can really cause a psoriasis outbreak. Any large amount of stress on the body attacks the immune system and weakens the body’s natural defense against disease. With the weakened immune system, whatever was holding the flare-ups at bay is busy elsewhere and an outbreak pops up. The stress can be any type of stress from emotional stress to anxiety to outside sources of stress.

Skin injuries can cause serious flare-ups at the site of the injury. Any small scratch or abrasions on the skin can cause infection or psoriasis to develop. Injuries happen and can’t always be avoided. If you are injured immediately take care of the wound, cover it and add Neosporin if it’s a small cut. Taking care of all injuries aptly after they happen can help prevent outbreaks. Sunburn is also a major risk for flare-ups, partly due to the hurt it can do to skin. If you buy a sunburn, rub it with aloe so it will heal more quickly. Leaving a sunburn untreated can be cause for a painful flare-up.

Illness can trigger flare-ups as well. The most common illness for flare-ups is strep throat, especially if it lingers for awhile. This can cause flare-ups and red bumps all over the skin. Often times, this type of psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, are mistaken as a rash or allergic reaction. In most cases, with antibiotics this type of psoriasis will go away.

Some medications are responsible for flare-ups. If you have been diagnosed with psoriasis make sure to talk about the possible reactions and side effects associated with medications. Your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medication with lowered risks, or give a second medication to hold off an outbreak.

Learning what can trigger and outbreak, will help keep flare-ups at bay.

Tomer Harel questioned:

Psoriasis is an inflammatory autoimmune skin condition that is non-contagious and chronic. During the earlier times, medical practitioners believe that psoriasis is a variety of leprosy, mainly because of its scaly appearance. It is one of the most ancient human diseases known to mankind. Incidentally, psoriasis has been momentously misunderstood over the years. Scholars ultimately paid much attention to this skin disorder, yet to this day – no cure was found.

Psoriasis occurs when an individual’s immune system sends out defective signals that hasten the growth cycle of his or her skin cells. Because ten to thirty percent of people who have had psoriasis get a related form of arthritis, it is imperative that the skin condition is treated immediately and properly.

Note: Psoriatic arthritis is the related form of arthritis. Psoriatic arthritis is the inflammation of the joints.

There are five types of psoriasis, each of which has unique signs and symptoms. The five types are tablet, guttate, inverse, pustular and erythrodermic. Among these five, tablet psoriasis is the most common. Tablet appears as patches of raised, ruddy skin covered by silvery-white scale. Usually, the plaques are formed on the elbows and knees as well as the lower back and scalp. But, the plaques can also manifest themselves on any part of the body. About 80% of people who develop psoriasis have tablet psoriasis. The other 20% have any of the other types. Guttate psoriasis appears as small, red spots on the skin. Inverse psoriasis manifests itself as smooth, red lesions formed in skin folds. Pustular psoriasis, on the other hand, appears as white pustules surrounded by red skin, even as erythrodermic psoriasis causes widespread flush with severe itching and pain.

People must be aware that anyone may have psoriasis. This skin disorder can occur on any part of the body. Psoriasis causes a person discomfort, no topic they type.
ryan questioned:

Basically, I’m a honestly normal 16 year ancient male, I occasionally drink, I used to regularly smoke but have now stopped, I wash once every day, in the morning.
My mum has psoriasis, quite terribly, she gets it on her knees, her shoulders, her knuckles and her face.
About a year ago I had a bout of Guttate Psoriasis, I reckon that’s how it’s spelt anyway, and it was all over my chest, my doctor said it was due to a throat infection, and I thought nothing of it.

But recently I have been noticing small patches, no larger than a one pence piece, of flaky skin on my elbows and on my knees, when I scratch it off it leaves a patch of raw (not painful, just pink) skin, it’s not terrible, just worrying.
I also had some on my scalp, but that’s cleared itself up.

I’m here to question if I have psoriasis, and if I do, does any person know if it’ll go away, if it’ll get worse, will I have it as terrible as my mothers, any treatments I can try that will make it less noticeable, slow it down etc…

It is a horrible disease and has affected my mum horribly, lowered her self esteem, and just generally caused her problems, it is worrying me because I don’t want the same to happen to me.

Thank you so much in advance, if any person can offer me any help

Dee Cohen questioned:

There are different forms of psoriasis treatment for innumerable types such as pustular psoriasis, guttate , tablet, nail and scalp. Symptoms involve for most people itching and can be painful. The lesions may be red spots, red patches and white scales. It is considered extra skin growth.

Triggers are vital to identify so you can make an intelligent plot about your lifestyle. Some triggers contain underlying infections, bacteria, food allergies, medication responses and anxiety. Try to find out about your family description with skin problem disorders as genetics also can play a role in the formation of psoriasis red patches. Have you had an infection lately? If so, how was it treated. You may be reacting to any the infection or the meds you used to heal it and being paid skin eruptions.

A variety of treatments for psoriasis outbreaks is available and contain using coal tar, dead sea bath products, salicylic acid (which is used in pimple formulas) and prescription medications. For severe psoriasis that is hard to control there is methotrexate. Some people may recognize this as a medication used as well for cancer treatments. There are also success tales due to using phototherapy or uv set alight for psoriasis scaling and blemishes.

Note the location of your red patches and get a diagnosis of what type it is. Nail psoriasis would have a different plot than guttate psoriasis. Be alert of cirumstances that can induce perspiration to not aggrave the condition further. Having a chronic skin problem can make you want to scream but keep your confidence that with experimentation you will find a solution that will work for you.

I am very aware that some things work for some people and others, not so much.
Can anyone tell me their experience with this product?
