PSORIASIS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. What is Psoriasis? A. Psoriasis is a non-contagious skin disorder where the skin replicates itself every 2 or 3 days, rather than every 28 days. This causes the skin to form layers of dead skin, forming white or silvery plaques. These can be small areas, or large areas covering the entire body. There are a number of different types of psoriasis, but plaque psoriasis is the most common. Q. Is there a Cure for Psoriasis? A. There is no known cure for psoriasis! There are many ways of treating psoriasis. Not all treatments work effectively on all people. You can only try different treatment methods and see what works best for you. Q. What Causes Psoriasis? A. Great question! Wish I could answer that.... At this point no one knows exactly what causes psoriasis to appear, or disappear! There are many different factors that may play a role including genetics. Q. What about the New Biologics? A. There are now 4 biologic drugs approved for treating psoriasis, or psoriatic arthritis.
